What is Remy hair?

Remy hair is the highest quality of human hair because the hair is collected with all the cuticles aligned in one direction. Since Remy hair has all of the hair cuticles aligned in one direction, the hair generally does not matt or tangle.

What is Virgin Hair?

Authentic Virgin hair is hair that has not been chemically treated or processed in any way to achieve its color or texture.  Once our hair is collected from the donor, it is thoroughly washed and conditioned, then wefted and made available for purchase. We also refer to this type of hair as “Raw Hair”.

Where does Kieko Star Kollection Virgin Indian Remy Hair come from?

Our hair is imported directly from India. In the Hindu religion, millions of believers voluntarily shave their heads as a part of their religious practices at temples across the country. Hair that is collected from these temples with the cuticles aligned is considered the most valuable. With the exception of the cleansing and wefting of our hair, our hair does not undergo any additional processing.

Is "Raw Indian Remy Hair" the same as Brazilian, Peruvian, or Malaysian hair ?

No, No, and No! For starters, "Brazilian", "Peruvian", and "Malaysian" virgin hair extensions do not really exist. These names are used by manufactures and hair companies as marketing ploys to get consumers to purchase their hair. A vast majority of the hair extensions on the market are dipped in acid and/or silicone by Chinese manufactures to achieve their textures despite these exotic names. Since Virgin Indian Remy Hair does not under go any of the chemical processing mentioned above, this results in a superior quality product that lasts much longer.

How many bundles do I need?

“The longer the hair, the shorter the weft” is a common saying among consumers wearing hair extensions. This is true because although each bundle of hair weighs approximately the same, longer lengths of wefted hair are in fact shorter than shorter lengths.  Also, the number of bundles you purchase depends on several factors including your desired hairstyle and whether or not you will use a closure/frontal hairpiece. We recommended purchasing at least 3 bundles of hair when selecting 12”-22” of hair. For lengths over 24”, we recommend purchasing at least 4 bundles of hair for fullness.

Can I color/dye my extensions?

Absolutely! Kieko Star Kollection hair has not been chemically treated in any way. This means you can bleach, color, dye, or relax your extensions/hair pieces. We highly recommend using a professional for chemical treatments to avoid under/over-processing the hair.

How should I wash my extensions?

It is recommended that you gently detangle your extensions from the ends, working your way up to the weft prior to washing. Gently wash your extensions in luke-warm water with a sulfate free moisturizing shampoo. There is no need to vigorously rub the hair when washing. Rinse the hair and apply a moisturizing conditioner. Rinse conditioner with cool water. For best results, allow your extensions to air dry.  If using heat to dry and/or style your extensions, always use a quality heat protectant.

What type of products should I use on my hair extensions?

Less is more when caring for your hair extensions. We recommend that you use natural products that are specifically formulated for the texture of your hair extensions.  Curly and Wavy hair require LOTS of moisture to maintain its texture.

How should I store my extensions?

When the hair or hairpiece is not installed, it's best to store your extensions in a cool dry place. You can lay your extensions flat or hang them for best results.

Are there special instructions to care for my frontal/closure?

Yes. Over plucking the lace and/or over processing to bleach the knots can cause thinning, tears, discoloration, and dryness to your hairpiece. It is recommended that you consult a reputable stylist regarding altering your closure or frontal. It is also important that you follow the same hair care recommendations for frontals and closures as you would for your bundles.

How long will my extensions last?

Several factors determine how long your extensions will last. This includes how often you wear your extensions, how you care for your extensions, and whether or not you chemically treat the hair. With proper care, your extensions can last you several years.
